Well, it is 90 degrees here, and they still have not figured out how much better their lives would be with air conditioning, but I'm on my couch watching soccer (and sweating), so it can't suck too much. Although after my bike ride this morning, I had to shower because I was disgusting. I guess you really can't get away from the heat, no matter how far north you go. :)
Got up on Thursday morning at 8 to test drive my commute if I lived in a place called Cambridgeport, which is near MIT. It was actually only 20 minutes out to where I would be working in Wellesley if I left at 8:30 am, which isn't too bad. There was pretty much no traffic, and Cambridgeport would be sweet b/c I would still be living in/near the city and the Central T stop. Then I headed to Greg's to ride my bike. Got a good ride in before stopping for breakfast and a pedi (I love my life). Then a trip to the library to pick up some books to keep me entertained after surgery (I'm currently still reading the third book in the Millenium/Lisbeth Salander series, but will finish that soon).
Ended the day meeting a friend from UGA at Houston's down near Faneuil Hall for a drink. He is president of the UGA alumni association in Boston, which basically consists of meeting at a bar to watch games (he said sometimes they get 100+ people) and an annual ski trip to Killington with the New York UGA alumni association. I'm excited about having a group to watch the games with sometimes and am hoping to be better in time for the later part of ski season. Next February is 7 months away.
(And yes, Anna, this may be a little bit of bragging. It is a slightly self-enforced break from the working world that I will going back to soon enough. And I'm getting to know Boston so you can come visit.)
