I met Shim in Harvard Square today for coffee and then walked around the area for the first time. I went to Beadworks and made a necklace out of some lapis beads that I got in Europe. Then I ate at Bartley's, a Cambridge institution (like Manuel's) with really good burgers - definitely the best burger that I've had since I've been in Boston. It was recommended by someone on Boston.com as a good date place. I don't know about that, but it was a good burger and good onion rings. Then I hit up the Harvard Bookstore next door, where they have a $5 book rack. I got two good books to read during my bed rest after surgery, "Green Living" and "I am Madame X." There are lots more things to do there, including lots of good shopping, but I had spent enough money for the day.
I'm working on being a better tour guide for when visitors come to town (hint, hint). :)
