Sitting on Greg's couch, enjoying a lazy afternoon. It's hot outside, but not unbearable like it has been the past few days. Greg and I went to the doctor today for my first post-op visit. Dr. Minos (the PA) said everything looked good, and I can walk around in the brace with my knee bent. He also said that I should try to walk as "normal" as possible - has anyone else ever noticed how hard it is to walk normally when you are trying to think about what normal is? It's only been 8 days, but walking seems like a foreign concept. It will get better though.
I came across a post in John Kessler's food blog on AJC.com titled "ABC wine: Anything but Chardonnay." I couldn't agree more. I enjoy most white wines, but I have somehow never been able to get into Chardonnay. I enjoy his blog and often check in from time to time to see what's going on in the Atlanta food scene (I never made it to Joel, but learned it closed abruptly this spring). However, it's hard to hear about what's going on in the Atlanta food scene and not be able to eat at any of the restaurants. The Boston food scene doesn't work quite the same way. I have found some good restaurants (Publick House in Brookline), but it seems that a lot of times the scene is built around beer, rather than good food.
