When I first moved to Boston, I would often think "this would be a great topic for a blog post" and then I would go off and write said blog post. As time has gone on, this has slowly melted away until now when I go for extended periods without blogging or thinking about blogging.
I notice the same thing when I do my occasional catching-up on other people's blogs. Some people are vigilant, but for the most part, they have slowly gotten away from it, until months go by with nothing. Why do we start out with so much enthusiasm for the blog and then get away from it? Do we just start living our life instead of blogging about it? Do the new and different experiences (especially for bloggers who have moved to a new place) turn into routine experiences?
I feel like both of those have been true for me. When I first moved here, everything was new and different, from the weather to other drivers. Now, things are still new in some ways, but less and less so than before. Also, living my life here has left less time for blogging. I didn't write all of the things that I wanted to about my trip to Atlanta b/c I ran out of time. I'm not sitting at the coffee shop most days like I was in the beginning, and only the occasional weekend is a relaxing weekend on the couch (like this one :), instead of most weekends when I was recovering from surgery.
Greg and I went to Clery's yesterday, right near the Back Bay T station. It was fun to watch the game on the big screen along with other UGA fans. I was impressed that I was able to talk Greg into going, and he even seemed interested in going back for a bigger game later in the season.
Next up, Deb comes to Boston! Also, apparently no one calls it Beantown...who knew?
